We usually have a traditional Weber 121 piano in stock, in a rosewood or mahogany finish (pictured below). The tone is warm, especially in the bass, and the action firm but even. Young Chang have definitely been aiming to manufacture pianos that have a more ‘European’ sound, with Yamaha-esque brightness eschewed for warmer tones. This is most probably the legacy of Joseph Pramberger, a former vice president from Steinway & Sons and an experienced piano designer, who joined the Young Change company in 1995. Pramberger brought many innovations to piano design, including the “Platinum Touch Action” and the patented asymmetrically tapered soundboard.
The Weber 121 piano is also fitted with the all important muting ‘Practice Pedal’. This places a piece of felt in between the hammers and strings, reducing much of the volume and frequencies that can travel between walls. A much sought after feature for parents who want to keep fellow neighbours happy in the evenings!
