On April 14th, the Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford-on Avon hosts the acclaimed Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, a small ensemble of the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in a programme celebrating the centenary of Benjamin Britten, one of Britain’s best-loved 20th Century composers. The programme features early works by Britten and pieces by his contemporaries Alban Berg, Hans Werne Henze and Aaron Copland. The ensemble are highly regarded for their interpretations of 20th Century repertoire and feature the ‘indefatigable’ Malcolm Wilson at the piano (Birmingham Post).
