The Piano Shop Bath welcomes its latest addition, a fully restored 1908 Steinway model O. At 180 cm (5’10”) this is the largest of Steinway’s smaller grand pianos, with proportions that work particularly well in a home environment. This charming Steinway grand piano has been lovingly restored by our experienced technicians. Vintage Steinway’s will never be short of admirers and this immaculate restoration is a shining example of why they remain so sought after.
After months of careful work this Model O is now ready to go onto our showroom floor and we are very proud of the final result. The gorgeous rosewood case would be an appealing addition to any interior and gives this Steinway grand piano a particularly warm and welcoming appearance. The restoration work is of the highest quality and this really comes across when you sit down to play the piano. The touch is consistent and responsive across the whole keyboard, while the tone is very much that classic ‘Steinway tone’, rich but clear in all registers.
You may be wondering what work has been done to bring this piano back to life; a fully inclusive list is available on enquiry but just to give you taste of what our technicians have been up to, this Model O has a new pinblock, new strings, new tuning pins, new hitch pins and the action has been fully restored with genuine Steinway and Sons parts.
A huge amount of work goes into these restored pianos but we feel it is worth it and this is a wonderful example of just how good a fully restored grand piano can be.
