A fully refurbished grand piano with a prestigious history from the highly respected German manufacturer.
A very welcome addition to our Bath showroom for the new year is a fully refurbished and restored 1929 Grotian Steinweg Grand Piano. Built by the highly regarded German Piano manufacturers in the roaring twenties this refurbished Grand piano is of the highest quality. The Grotrian family have been producing pianos in Germany for over 170 years, building pianos which retain a worldwide reputation and that remain a perennial favourite for those in the know. The Royal academy of music has two Grotrians and the Yuhudi Menuhin school recently choose a Grotrian Steinweg piano for the foyer of their new concert hall.
World Class Pianos
Grotrian Steinweg began as a joint venture by Friedrich Grotrian and Heinrich Steinweg (who would go on to found Steinway and Sons). The understated excellence of Grotrian Pianos has been maintained through the Grotrian families commitment to traditional craftsmanship coupled with modern technology. Today the firm produce around 500 upright pianos and 300 Grand Pianos each year, incuding 20 concert grands that each require 8 months to manufacture. Unlike so many manufacturing companies these days the Grotrian factory remains a family enterprise that is managed by the fifth generation of Grotrians. The business has been greatly respected throughout Europe and North America for over 150 years and the firms reputation for producing performance pianos of the highest quality from their factory in Braunschweig endures to this day. In 2001 Larry Fine described Grotrian pianos as being on a par with pianos such as Bosendorfers, Bluthners and Faziolis.
