Interwoven with some of Chopin’s loveliest piano works, Divine Fire traces the relationship of Fryderyk Chopin and the author George Sand from their first meeting in Paris in 1836 until the end of their affair in 1849. Based on original correspondence, the story unfolds through Porrett’s compelling narration, interspersed with evocative piano pieces: fiery scherzos, heart-rending Ballades and stirring Polonaises played by the great interpreter of Chopin, Viv McLean.
