Bath International Music Festival got off to a great start last week and there is still plenty to look forward to in the coming days. On Thursday, Lera Lynn will be performing at Komedia from 7.30 pm, bringing her distinctive noir alt country voice to Bath in what promises to be a compelling show. The festival ends on Sunday with a family music day in Parade Gardens, this is a day to celebrate the joy of making music and drop in workshops will be held from 11-2 pm during the day with live musical performances on the bandstand between 11-3 pm. This looks like it will be a fun and fitting end to the music festival and we will be keeping our fingers crossed for some good weather!
One of the most anticipated events takes place this Saturday at Bath Forum, the English premiere of Piaf! The Show, which starts at 7.30 pm. This show features Anne Carrere performing the songs of Edith Piaf alongside a four piece band: of piano, accordion, percussion and double bass. The show has been touring the world gathering rave reviews so this should be a thrilling evening celebrating the songs and musicality of the legendary Edith Piaf.
The Piano Shop Bath is happy to be supporting Piaf! The Show by providing a Yamaha C7 for the evening. The Yamaha C7 is one of the most recorded grand pianos in the world, thus ensuring the quality that is required for an event such as this. The rich Yamaha piano tone will work well in the four piece ensemble and should help the performers create a memorable evening. In terms of the logistics required to get a 2.1 metre (7 foot) grand piano in situ for the performers, our experienced piano hire team will have everything under control as usual. When I asked about the effort involved in manoeuvring the Yamaha C7 ‘Big Martin’ modestly replied, ‘all in a day’s work’, and so it is for the team at The Piano Shop Bath. If you need to hire a piano for an event please do get in touch. From the concert worthy Yamaha C7 grand piano to the reliable upright pianos in our fleet, we have a piano for every occasion.
