On April 18th, acclaimed concert pianist Gordon Fergus Thompson takes to the stage of St. George’s Bristol for a lunchtime piano recital of classics of the piano repertoire. The programme includes two Nocturnes by Frederic Chopin, Schumann’s Fantasy in C Major and Franz Liszt’s Fantasy and Fugue in G Minor, which was originally written as an organ fantasy and was later transcribed by the composer for the piano. The recital promises to be a tour of the pianistic tradition’s most cherished composers, in the auspicious setting of one of Bristol’s loveliest concert spaces.
