The Piano Shop Bath undertakes hires for events all over the west country and beyond. We always enjoy supplying pianos for The Bath festival taking place right here in Bath from the 19-28th May at various venues across the city. This year the line up has some real treats in store and the party in the city that took place on Friday was a great celebration. The Piano Shop is supplying pianos for a number of events throughout the Festival, and we greatly look forward to seeing the beautiful city of Bath spring to life over the next ten days. If you are at any of the following events you may spot one of our very reliable and beautiful Yamaha and Kawai hire grand pianos; Tuesday 23rd May we will be supplying a grand piano for Georgie Fame and The Guy Barker Big Band. From 7.30pm at Bath Forum, this promises to be a very good evening of music with the legendary Georgie Fame. Wednesday 24th May our piano is required for Stormy: The Life Of Lena Horne, from 7.30 at Komedia, Bath. This is a Bath festival premiere and looks like it will be a very memorable celebration of the life of dancer, movie star, activist and singer Lena Horne. Finally, on Saturday 27th May Madeleine Thien: From Mao to now at the Assembly Rooms. Thien’s hugely successful 2016 novel Do Not Say We have Nothing, featured the Goldberg Variations prominently throughout, this event effortlessly builds on one of the Festival key strands which is the weaving together of literature and music. During this presentation by Thien pianist Richard Uttley will be performing selections from Bachs Goldberg variations. All in all a very lively few weeks await us and we will be on hand, as usual, to ensure everything runs smoothly.
