Our Somerset-based in-house piano tuner regularly travels across the county, and beyond, ensuring pianos are in tip-top condition.
This time of year, our tuner has noticed frequently pianos’ pitch has been going slightly sharp. This is due to the piano mainly being made of wood, and therefore reacting with temperature fluctuations and humidity.
He was recently tuning a Kawai K300 upright piano in Mells, Somerset. This was a complimentary tuning, as the Piano Shop Bath offers free first tunings on all pianos. At this tuning, our technician noticed the piano had gone sharp by two beats due to the recent warm weather.
Our technican quickly solved the issue and the Kawai K300 was soon back to concert pitch.
If you notice any issues with your piano, our technicians are here to help, whether in Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire or beyond. Contact The Piano Shop Bath on 01225 427961 to arrange a piano tuning.
