In July 2021, concert pianist Nurry Lee performed live with ‘Trio Rouge’ at the BBC’s Broadcasting House. This was performed live on air, an experience that Nurry shares with us.
The ‘In Tune’ early evening programme on BBC Radio 3 which is hosted by Sean Rafferty, invited Trio Rouge to perform three chosen pieces live on air. This took place prior to the performance at the Buxton Musical Festival.
Trio Rouge is made up of Nurry Lee who plays piano, Sophie-Louise Phillips who plays the violin and Meera Pryanka Raja who plays the cello. They all took part in the live performance and as part of the experience, they were also interviewed.
As part of their performance, they performed music by Astor Piazzola, an Argentinian composer and Bedrich Smetana who is a Czech Composer. In this video, Nurry provides amazing insight into her experience of performing live on air to the nation while also performing in the world-renowned Broadcasting House while playing on a gorgeous Steinway.
