A painted piano is a popular addition to any living space, so it is no surprise that the internet is awash with ‘simple’ how to tutorials on how to achieve this look. It is a trend that shows no sign of abating. Remember the mustard yellow and aqua painted pianos that rocked our pinterest worlds a couple of years ago? these attractive choices paved the way for this trend to gather momentum within the hallowed worlds of instagram, pinterest and bloggers. So in the interests of piano lovers everywhere we thought a timely step by step guide to painting your piano was overdue. Its really very simple with our team at The Piano Shop Bath (you’re welcome)

  1. Choose your piano (either one of ours, or it could be your own existing piano)
  2. Choose exactly the colour you would like.
  3. Let us do the hard work
  4. Result=One perfectly painted piano.

  1. Choose your piano. At the piano shop Bath we have a great selection of new and older uprights, with different cabinet styles, and price points. Fancy transforming a black gloss Yamaha piano into something more contemporary? No problem, we have transformed several gloss finish pianos into something altogether more striking. We work closely with our clients when designing their new piano, and always look forward to hearing your specific design ideas.

2. Choose your colour. The fun part (obviously). Salon Drab, Brinjal, Gold, Blue, Green and all the greys, we’ve done a number of projects over the past few years and would be happy to provide you with some past images if you need a bit of inspiration. To be honest most people know what they want and then leave us to get on with the finish, thats what we’re here for and you can be sure your piano will be in the best hands from start to finish.

3. Let Us Do The Hard Work. So, no disassembling, no tape, no painting on the drive and no awkward trying to put the thing back together, after its dry. If you really want to paint furniture, we suggest starting on more straightforward pieces, sideboards, bookcases and wardrobes all make excellent projects for the chalk paint enthusiasts among you.

Once you have chosen your piano and the colour you would like you can put your feet up and have a biscuit (or three), leave it to The Piano Shop Bath to create a perfectly finished painted piano that fits your exact specification.
