The Piano Shop Bath have recently received two brand new uprights from the Austro-German manufacturer Feurich, the 115 Premiere and the 122 Universal Feurich pianos.
Feurich was established in 1851 and over the years have built up an excellent reputation. In 2003 manufacturing was moved to high quality plants in China, with headquarters remaining in Vienna. This was also the year that the 122 Universal piano won the coveted ‘Diapason D’or‘ award in Paris.
The two Feurich upright pianos at our showroom are different both in sound and appearance. Here is a brief run through of what you can expect from these great pianos:
The Feurich 122 Universal piano is a traditional cabinet construction with high gloss black finish. The piano has a balanced action that responds well to subtle playing. The feel is very comparable to the Yamaha U3 models we have in the showroom and anyone thinking of buying a U3 should give some serious consideration to the Feurich 122 Universal.
The main difference between the Feurich 122 Universal and a Yamaha U3 is the tone. The Feurich has a more mellow tone and features none of the bright frequencies that Yamaha pianos generally have. Many pianists will appreciate an alternative being available in this price range, and we strongly recommend a demonstration in our showroom to hear its full qualities.
The Feurich 115 Premiere piano is another gem of an upright piano. The tones across the keyboard are rich, with the bass notes capable of thunderous sounds similar to a grand piano. The treble notes are crisp but not tinny, you feel like there is a real choice of colours available to you even in the highest registers.
The appearance is quite striking too. This is a modern style cabinet design but without the tapered edges. Instead straight lines give a minimalist finish, which is very refreshing in a piano market dominated by fixed design options.
Both these Feurich upright pianos are excellent instruments for the beginner and the advanced pianist. They both feature medium actions that are very balanced and responsive to all styles of playing. We really encourage people to come down to our showroom and hear these excellent pianos for themselves. Feel free to call or email us with any queries relating to this piano, or visit our Bath showroom, open Tuesday to Sunday.
