Teaching Details
I began teaching piano when I was fifteen years old, under the guidance of my piano teacher mother, Carol Snell. Since that time, I have maintained an independent piano studio because of my passion for teaching. My students range from advanced high school students who will be music majors, to typical young beginners who will have a lifetime of music enjoyment.
In 1995, I began my association with my publisher, the Neil A. Kjos Music Company, as a composer, editor, and creator of educational materials for piano students. I have 260 titles in the Kjos catalog, ranging from music and methods for beginners up to advanced repertoire and theory. I have presented over 500 workshops for piano teachers in the US and abroad. During my teenage years, I studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Preparatory Department, and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. I completed my Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Piano Performance at the University of Southern California, where I was a student of John Perry.
