Teaching Details

Within the past year, four of my students have been offered places at Arts Educational and other students have been accepted at Italia Conti, Urdang and Mountview. I have been teaching piano and singing privately for some fifteen years and enjoy my work very much. I have an outstanding record of success at piano, classical singing and music theatre grades with 100% pass rate; the overwhelming majority of my students gain merits or distinctions. I tailor a curriculum with weekly practice and lesson logs for each student and teach every student how to practice effectively. Within the last twelve months several of my students have passed Grade 8 Music Theatre with Distinction, others have passed performance diplomas and gained places at some of the most prestigious institutions in the UK. I do not continue to teach students who do not practise and keep in very regular contact with parents to review progress and potential. The minimum standard that I will consider for a new singing student is grade 5 (or equivalent) although I do take on adult beginners who are motivated and who interest me. Most of my piano students are intermediate to advanced but I will take beginners who demonstrate potential (on a trial basis only.) My approach to teaching is friendly but businesslike.
