Teaching Details

I have 35 years experience teaching piano to children, teenagers and adults, both privately and in schools, and 30 years experience as a primary school teacher. My piano students have the opportunity to enter Associated Board and Trinity exams, and have a 100% pass rate, with the majority achieving Distinction. I am a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and an Approved Provider for the Wiltshire Music Education Hub. My aim is to help each student to reach their potential, discover the joy of music and have fun along the way. I believe students make progress when lessons are both enjoyable and appropriately challenging, and learning takes place in a positive and supportive atmosphere. My lessons are well-paced and practical, including a variety of activities to sustain interest and meet the needs of individuals with different abilities and learning styles.
Music is an integral part of my life and I strive to pass on my enjoyment and enthusiasm to my students. As well as piano teaching I sing in a choir and teach classroom curriculum music, recorder and electronic keyboard in primary schools.
