About the artist
Kate Blackstock is an artist living and working in the Cotswolds. She is currently exploring a range of mediums to understand and explore the countryside around her. From a farming background, there is an agricultural and folk undercurrent to her work. Blackstock is also studying for a BA in Fine Art at the University of Gloucestershire, an exploration into sound works whilst studying developed an interest in musicality, particularly in nature. She will be exhibiting in Oxfordshire Art weeks May 2024, a shared exhibition at UCAS and John Lewis in Cheltenham and completing an art residency in Galica, North Spain this summer. Her work for this exhibition uses piano wood as a backdrop for images of trees growing in the city of Bath. Hinting at the objects cycle of forms and its original state.
