Established way back in 1927, Kawai has been manufacturing high quality upright and grand pianos, electronic keyboards and synthesisers for nearly 90 years. Based in Shizuoka, Japan, Kawai are recognised worldwide for their innovation and manufacture of consistently high quality instruments. As well as producing a beautiful tone, Kawai pianos are generally considered to be some of the most durable instruments available here in the United Kingdom, due to the company’s research in alternative materials to wood.
Kawai currently offers a number of upright acoustic pianos under the ‘K Series’, which includes the K2, K3, K15 E, K5 and K6 models. From this series the Kawai K3 was voted Acoustic Piano of the Year 2008-2011 by readers of MMR magazine. Kawai’s upright pianos feature a uniform ebony polished finish, making for beautiful instruments that complement the concert hall or the living room equally. A number of brass front casters provide an attractive subtle touch, as do bright NEOTEX™ keys.
Kawai’s use of NEOTEX™ allows the keys to absorb moisture from the hands, giving greater control when playing. Similar efforts have been made to improve the pianos’ performance with the use of Kawai’s Millennium III Action and ABS-Carbon components. These features provide improved control and responsiveness, while eliminating the chance of warping, which can occur with traditional wooden actions. Add to this equation the warm tones, resonant bass and refined trebles that these instruments are capable of producing, and it becomes clear why Kawai’s acoustic upright pianos are some of the most popular in the United Kingdom.
New Kawai Range
Here at The Piano Shop Bath we are excited to reveal that Kawai have recently released a brand new range of acoustic upright pianos for use either in the home or in a professional setting. The series includes the K200, K300, K500, K600 and K800, all of which are available to try or buy today.
Kawai have built upon their already successful K series of acoustic upright pianos to produce a new range that has the same impressive playability, plus more. The new series of pianos feature double felted mahogany core hammers which produce rich tones, as well as the same NEOTEX™ covered keys for better control while playing. The latest series of Kawai upright pianos vary slightly in size, with certain models available to purchase in ‘Snow White’ finish, as well as the standard Ebony finish.
Alongside our range of new and pre-owned acoustic upright Kawai pianos, here at The Piano Shop Bath we also offer over 15 new Kawai digital pianos.
