We’re always delighted to be able to draw on the skills of our in-house concert pianist, Nurry Lee. Nurry often visits the Piano Shop Bath to review and perform on our wide range of instruments, to demonstrate their quality to our customers.
Although Nurry is still at the start of her career, she’s nonetheless a highly experienced performer, having won all kinds of prestigious awards and played all over the world.
Maintaining expertise of this calibre is no mean feat. Nurry works extremely hard to prepare for exams, competitions, recordings, recitals and live performances.
We asked Nurry to talk to us about her experiences of preparing for such events. Watch the video of our interview with her to find out more about:
- How much time she commits to practicing
- The typical build up to a concert or recital
- The kinds of scales, runs and trills she rehearses
- Her starting point for memorising whole concertos
We hope this will give you some insight into what it takes to be a concert pianist and deliver that note-perfect performance.
