The Kawai K3 upright piano is part of the new series of Kawai pianos to be fitted with their much improved ‘Millennium III’ action. This action was first seen on their top-of-the-line concert grand instruments and has now been redesigned for the K Series upright piano’s. As well as handcrafted wooden parts, the playing action employs some ABS-Carbon components, designed to be stiff but light, making the piano’s touch very fast and responsive. This piano is a full 4 feet tall and the tone is rich and powerful, rivalling some smaller grand pianos for depth and warmth, though without the overpowering bass or overly ‘bright’ tone sometimes associated with Japanese instruments.
Our tame pianists Edward and Ben were suitably impressed with the Kawai K3’s touch and tone and we heartily recommend the K3 to beginners and experienced pianists alike, and also to teachers seeking a sturdy, reliable quality instrument for many years service. This Kawai piano is fitted with the Soft Fall System, protecting the piano (and one’s fingers) from the lid slamming shut, and also with a full length music rack, an often overlooked but very useful feature. We like the classic styling of the traditional upright case, which is available in a full range of finishes to suit the modern or traditionally furnished room (gloss black shown below). The Kawai K3 piano won the prestigious American Musical Merchandise Review Piano of the Year in 2008, 09, 10 and 11, and is one of the best-selling acoustic pianos in the world. Like every new Kawai upright piano, the K3 comes with a ten-year guarantee.
We always have a Kawai K3 upright piano in stock, usually in Gloss Black, and we are usually able to order in Kawai pianos in the finish of your choice within 2-3 weeks.
