The Piano Shop Bath has recently received a fine Kawai KG-2D grand piano in its showroom. Kawai Musical Instruments was founded in Hamamatsu, Japan, in 1927. The company was founded to further the development of the piano through advances in technology. To this day, Kawai acoustic and digital pianos are renowned for their technologically advanced design, reflected in the company’s slogan, ‘The Future of the Piano’.

This 1985 Kawai KG-2D grand piano is a professional quality mid-sized (6 foot) grand in little-used condition. The gloss black case is in great shape, as is the action. This instrument has a wonderful tone, clear and full across the register, with a brilliant treble and powerful bass, and the touch is medium weight, responsive and even. This piano would make a good partner for the confident, advanced player but the even, medium-weight action makes it equally suitable for young beginners lacking in finger strength.
