At the Piano Shop Bath, in addition to our range of new acoustic and digital pianos, we stock a full and varied selection of pre-owned and restored acoustic pianos to suit every taste and budget. The latest addition to our stock is this lovely Kemble piano, a compact small modern upright (pictured below). Kemble was founded in London in 1911 and moved to Milton Keynes after the war, where they led the way in the manufacture of high quality smaller upright pianos, and produced pianos for Yamaha until the factory’s closure in 2009.
This Compact Kemble piano is probably the best small seven-octave piano available to the pre-owned market, and occupies as small a space as all but the most compact digital pianos, but still retains a high quality of construction and a warm, clear tone – it’s a serious instrument for pianists, unlike many ‘miniature’ pianos. Though they tend to sell fast, we always like to keep a Compact Kemble piano in stock, this mid-1990s example is in barely-played condition with a nicely finished light-wood case and features the ever-useful practice pedal.
