The Kawai CA95 is Kawai’s flagship digital piano, showcasing the company’s latest developments in digital instrument technology as well as their eighty years of knowledge and experience in acoustic piano building.
The ‘CA’ in CA95 stands for ‘Concert Artist’, Kawai’s name for their top level digital instruments. The touch and tone of the CA95 is closely modelled on Kawai’s flagship EX Series concert grand pianos, as used in concert halls around the world. The real wooden keys are the same length and type as those of the Kawai grand, the motion of the pedals is almost indistinguishable from the real thing, and the sound quality must be heard to be fully appreciated. Each note is meticulously recorded from an EX concert grand, triggered by Kawai’s most ‘piano-like’ digital action to date. The sound is passed through a system of speakers and a real wooden soundboard to produce a stunning grand piano tone. AT £2695, the Kawai CA95 is priced to compete with entry level upright pianos, but we feel its action and tone are more like that of a high-end Japanese or German instrument.
In addition to the realism of the piano touch and tone, the CA95 has eighty realistic sounds, from a selection of pianos to choirs and strings, and the ability to record your playing, connect easily to a computer or modify the characteristics of the instrument. If you prefer a lighter touch or a more resonant tone, simply adjust the CA95’s settings to suit your preference. Some of the CA95’s features are demonstrated in the Kawai video below.
The Kawai CA95 is, we feel, probably the most realistic and refined digital piano on the market, in terms of action, touch, and tone. This instrument plays and sounds like a piano (and a good one at that), while presenting the option to play through headphones, easily transpose, connect to a computer, or simply take up less room! The case is very stylish and is available in rosewood or black (pictured below).
We keep a comprehensive range of Kawai digital pianos in stock, including at least one Concert Artist instrument, so why not visit our showroom and try on for yourself? We even have a set of headphones for those less inclined to public performance…
